Update 3/16/20: Due to the coronavirus quarantine imposed on New York City evening events, we are postponing the March reading. The April reading is likely to be postponed, but we will make that decision once the month gets going. That said, the May reading is still expected to go forward as planned. Authors from March (and likely April) are expected to appear later in the year, so please watch this space for any changes! Stay healthy, wash your hands, exercise social distancing and dream of ice cream and readings to come!

What Is Ample Hills?

An ice cream shop, Ample Hills has literary origins: “I too lived – Brooklyn, of ample hills, was mine,” wrote Walt Whitman in Crossing Brooklyn Ferry. The shop’s founders wanted to open a place that would bring the community together, and ice cream was precisely the way to do it. They use farm fresh ingredients, are a registered dairy plant, pasteurize (and make most of their mix-ins) on site, and have been called “Brooklyn’s freshest.”

I’m a Reader. How Can I Get on the Schedule?

We are currently looking authors who have recently had books or stories published, or will have books or stories published in the upcoming months. We are also actively seeking established featured writers to read at each event.

Let us know which you fit in best so we can slot you in appropriately: science-fiction, fantasy, horror or mystery, or other (let us know which).

If you are interested in reading, please email curator Randee Dawn via the contact form here with the previously-requested information, along with a brief list of upcoming publications/recent publications/relevant details.

Follow us for updates on Twitter!

See you there, you sweet things!
