If Edward Gorey and Tim Burton had spawned

For anyone who's ever been a fan of Edward Gorey, I present to you Deanna Molinaro's works.

She's got three books online (one of which is for kids; reminiscent of Richard Scarry) and the others which only seem to be for kids. She's written some, illustrated some, and written and illustrated some. She's versatile like that. Plus, she's got sculpture that makes me think she's actually the spawn of Gorey and Tim Burton. And, Deanna's on LiveJournal.

Now I'm left wondering just what Jeffrey the octopus was hiding.

Oh, and for the drawing at left, she doesn't know anything we don't, and says at the site:

"I did this for a site where we submit a drawing bi-monthly on a different theme, and this was my entry for Harry Potter. As
much as I am actually a fan of Harry Potter, I had no idea what to
draw, so I picked a terrible outcome for the end of the book series.
"

Indeed. Deanna rocks.

[this is good] WOW! thank you so much for posting this, I didn’t know Deanna Molinaro and I’m always happy to see these kind of works, the Gorey “aesthetic” is fantastic.

Great minds with great taste think alike! I’m glad to have passed her along. She’s also got an LJ blog, btw — I think you can find the link at her site.

I saw it, it’s funny, she’s commented on movies that are also my favorites… incredible, all out favorite authors should keep blogs, LOL!
