Brooklyn Books & Booze @ Barrow’s Intense is underway!
In May 2021, the Ample Hills Creamery opened its upstairs to a special reading series featuring a variety of emerging and established writers reading from their current works. Authors of all kinds read on the rooftop of the ice cream local, which shuttered in December 2022. The former Rooftop Reading series moved to Barrow’s Intense Ginger Tasting Room in January 2023, and since May of that year has become known as Brooklyn Books & Booze @ Barrow’s Intense! Each month we feature three or four different authors of different genres — science-fiction, fantasy, horror, young adult, mystery, humor … the sky’s the limit!

Here are the details:
When?
Readings will be held from 7-9pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
Note: All ages are welcome to attend, but unless labeled as Young Adult/Middle Grade/Children’s may feature adult content, including themes and language. Also, this is a bar and a restaurant.
Where?
Barrow’s Intense Tasting Room
86 34th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232
Subway: D train to 36th Avenue, then about a 4 minute walk.
(This venue is inside what’s known as Industry City, a series of former industrial work spaces turned into food, drink and shopping venues. See this map for assistance, as it can be confusing the first time you go.)

FREE!
Authors will also be selling/signing copies of their works, if they choose.

I’m an Author. How Can I Get on the Schedule?
We are currently seeking authors who have recently had books or stories published, or will have books or stories published in the upcoming months. We are also actively seeking established featured writers to read at each event.
If you are interested in reading, please respond via this Google Form.
You will be asked to pinpoint the months you are available in 2026, and upload a bio/photo. If we have a great slot for you, we’ll reach out in the coming months!
